Challenge your perspective.

Get curious about yourself.

Coaching to rediscover your spark, uncover your strengths and explore what comes next.

Think of coaching as a chance to investigate yourself with curiosity: what's working, what's been overlooked, what brings out your best — and what might become possible if you used more of it.

Whether you're stepping into leadership, navigating a career transition or simply wanting to reconnect with what matters, I help you pause, reflect and move forward with confidence.

Coaching isn't about fixing, it’s about bringing out your best.

Coaching was a huge benefit to me in adapting my skills from my professional sport background to fast track into the Detective Constable role within two years. I do not believe this transition would have been possible without coaching with Cate.
— Amy - DC Avon & Somerset Police

Q: Why do sports professionals have a coach?

A: Not because something is wrong. They want to understand their game, build on their strengths and explore what could make them even better.

Similarly, coaching can help you to:

  • Understand yourself and uncover strengths you may have overlooked

  • Reconnect with what energises you and brings out your best

  • Build confidence and find your way through change or uncertainty

  • Communicate and connect more effectively with the people around you

  • Explore what’s next — in life, work or leadership

My approach

Why I coach with curiosity.

My approach to coaching was shaped by years of working alongside fast-track detectives learning to balance life and work in high-pressure, uncertain environments. Those that thrived weren't those with all the confidence or the answers—they were those who could stay curious, develop self- awareness and think clearly. That's the approach I now bring to my coaching whether you’re looking to take the lead in your life or work.

How I can help you.

Using a strengths-based approach much like a sports coach, I will help you discover, explore and apply your untapped values and hidden strengths. My work draws on the internationally recognised, psychometrically approved VIA Character Strengths framework. Character strengths are universal qualities that help people flourish across cultures, professions and communities. I think of them as our inner bearings.

What if the qualities that come most naturally to you could become some of your greatest assets?

I use character strengths to help you understand how you naturally think, respond and contribute — and how to use those strengths deliberately when circumstances become challenging.

Where this takes you.

Understanding yourself is only useful if it helps you live differently. Together, we'll turn what you discover into practical choices — whether that's reconnecting with what energises you, changing direction, stepping up at work or simply bringing more of yourself to what comes next.

What are Character Strengths?

Character Strengths are the positive qualities that influence how we think, behave and relate to others.

Methodology

1. Discover

Understand your character strengths, values, patterns and motivations.

2. Reframe

Challenge assumptions, blind spots and the stories that may be holding you back.

3. Apply

Turn insight into practical changes in how you make decisions, communicate and lead in life and work.

What working together feels like

Expect curiosity rather than over-analysis: practical, playful conversations that turn insight into action.

I'll ask questions that help you see yourself differently, notice patterns you've overlooked and recognise strengths that have become hidden beneath the pace of everyday life.

The aim isn't to become someone new.

It's to become fully you.

Cate is a great listener, enabling you to understand your strengths when most people focus on weaknesses. Cate has kept me on track with my goals and helps me consider how I have progressed.
— Flo - Trainee Detective

Client Reviews

“As part of a leadership coaching program, I was recommended to Cate to work specifically on issues I had identified as challenges in my future promotion process. These focused on my own wellbeing: emotional resilience, establishing boundaries, and accepting my limitations. The mindset shifts as a result of ongoing coaching are even more obvious to me now and I can see how they will gradually take hold and become part of my arsenal to meet future promotion ambitions as well as balance within my working and personal lives.”

— Emma, Acting Sergeant, Metropolitan Police

“Cate helped me work through elements of my character I often overlook, and how I can develop these areas to elicit different outcomes. I now rely less on humour to deflect or hide from emotions, drawing instead on areas of strength. I now approach difficult conversations, with confidence and leadership.”

— Megan, Detective Client, Avon & Somerset Police.

“Coaching with Cate has significantly improved my emotional resilience and stress management. The nature of detective work – investigating violent crimes, dealing with victims and confronting moral dilemmas – can take a serious toll on mental health. Cate’s coaching has provided a confidential space to process these experiences, develop coping strategies and build emotional strength, ensuring I can maintain my peak performance without burnout.”
